Briton Kidnapped Near Nigeria’s Lagos Airport

(LAGOS, Nigeria) — A British national has been kidnapped near Lagos international airport, in Nigeria’s commercial capital, the British Consulate-General reported Friday.

Diplomats are working with Nigerian authorities on the kidnapping, which took place earlier this week, said consulate spokesman Wale Adebayo.

The person was kidnapped shortly after leaving the international terminal, said a British statement.

Adebayo would not say what day it occurred or give any other information, citing the “sensitive nature” of the issue.

The U.S. Embassy in Nigeria sent an alert about the kidnapping, saying it “urges all U.S. citizens living and traveling in Nigeria to take extra precautions for your personal security and safety” because of the “high threat of kidnapping of expatriates country-wide.”

The embassy advised U.S citizens to be particularly vigilant around church and other places of worship, locations where crowds gather, government facilities and areas frequented by foreigners because of an ongoing threat from Islamic extremists operating mainly in northeast Nigeria, where there is a 2-month-old state of emergency.

Nigeria 'to withdraw some troops from Mali'

Nigeria 'to withdraw some troops from Mali'

Nigerian troops in Banamba, Mali. 9 April 2013Nigerian troops have been deployed in Mali for some months
Nigeria is planning to withdraw some of its 1,200 soldiers from the UN peacekeeping force in Mali, Ivory Coast President Alassane Ouattara has said.
Mr Ouattara, head of the regional group Ecowas, said the troops were needed at home to tackle militant Islamists.
It is not yet clear how many Nigerian troops will stay in Mali, where an election is due to be held on 28 July.
The Nigerians are part of a force of 6,000 African troops who took over from a French-led mission on 1 July.
French and West African troops drove militant Islamists out of northern Mali in February.

The End is near pls pass it on.....

I saw myself dreaming within a dream. I was on a bus/train; all i know was that it was moving at a high speed. But i saw a train for goods taking fruits; i mean lovely and heavenly fruits to a place. Right there in my mind i knew the train was delivering the fruits to heaven. I saw a nice and beautiful place from afar and that was where the train was headed. But a voice within me said come on u’ll see the tip of what the other side place is like. This train that i was on dropped people including me at a big dirty, raggedy and nasty place. I have forgotten the name the town was called. But believe me this place is not meant for any decent human being. But to my surprise humans live there. The worst disease or calamities that can happen exist there. Actually in the “town” there were 2 districts; there is a very poor area. I mean everywhere and everything stinks. The 2nd district was a little bit clean because rich ppl lived there hence they tried to use their money to afford little amount of luxury but they were not happy. There was no law/order. Everywhere looked disorganised, crime here and there.

At this stage i thought within me, oh! This place is still better than some places in Lagos (city in Nigeria). Something suddenly woke me up from that dream. While still dreaming in the real world, i saw that I, my husband and my sister went to visit my maternal grandpa in my mum’s village. The big house was very quiet as he was the only one at home. His sight seemed poor at this time but he was able to arrange chairs for us to seat before we got there. While we sat in the living room, i requested for his mobile phone.

Time out

‘…Stand…still a while, that I may shew thee the word of God.’ 1Samuel 9:27 KJV

Here’s an ancient Scripture with a modern message: ‘As they were going down to…the city, Samuel said to Saul…‘stand thou still a while, that I may shew thee the word of God.’’ Today we are told that in order to succeed we must hit the floor running at a hundred miles an hour, and keep it up until we collapse in the sack at night. And what’s the downside to all this? Our walk with the Lord slows to a crawl, or stops altogether. Our busyness leads to spiritual barrenness. Being part of the chase can be exciting and rewarding, but it leaves little or no time for God. And you don’t have to be in business.

Look at mothers with small children: every minute consumed by little creatures who pull at you, scribble on your walls and walk mud all over your floor, then have the nerve to wake you up in the middle of the night. If that’s happening to you, you need to say: ‘Time out! I refuse to put my spiritual life on autopilot, mouthing meaningless prayers and leafing through a Bible I neither study nor live by. I’m going to pay whatever price it takes to walk with God.’ Doing that will not be easy. You’ll have to start saying no to certain things, and run the risk of displeasing people. But it’s the only way you’ll be at peace with God and be in a position to hear what He’s saying to you. Nobody ever said the Christian walk is easy, but is anything in the world of more lasting importance or more rewarding?
