Hi Friends, this is the 2nd part of the story “BEHIND CLOSED DOORS” it’s a lengthy story pls take time to read it.
“Maybe things aren’t the way she had thought” Bridget thought to herself as she watched Abigail talked endlessly about her new job and other things in her life. She remembered the passion in the way she spoke, the uplifted spirit. She spoke about people she had met and how things have worked so well for her.
Bridget was beginning to think it was definitely over, her obsession over her was finally over.Abigail had called her few days ago after their first meeting in church to schedule a lunch between the two ladies which Bridget had no choice than to accept. She felt she had no reason not to see her since her motives and intentions were not clear. Abigail went on and went about her success in her job, her family and out of curiosity; Bridget had asked her how she met Peter. She told her they both met during one of his visit to her work place; one thing led to another, she claimed she was totally attracted to him and they hit it off from there.
Then, they decided to go for cloth shopping; in the dressing room where Bridget was trying on a new dress; she was aware of the intense scrutiny of Abigail on her which made her uncomfortable. Just as she took off the dress to get into her own clothes, she heard Abigail’s voice.
“You left me Bridget,” She said in a sad tone. “You left me just like that.” Her heart sunk, although, she had been expecting this scene for a long time but since she had been so lively throughout their outing, she had given up on the notion of her ever going back to their past.
“I….” Bridget tried to say something but the right words wouldn’t come.
“How bad did I offend you to leave me just like that, six whole years Bridget” She continued to say looking straight into her eyes. “I gave you my life, my love, my devotion, I loved you Bridget. I gave you everything but you tore my heart into pieces” She said as her eyes became moist with tears. “Whatever I ever did to you, I never deserved that treatment.”
Bridget inhaled deeply. She couldn’t understand why she could be so hung up on that; after all, as she said, it’s been six years. Years where they both have grown wisely, years where they both should have come back to their sense and renounce the scandalous life.
“It’s not like that” Bridget found herself saying. “I never intended to hurt you Abigail”
“Then, why did you do it? Why did you leave?” She shouted, angrily.
“Please….” Bridget tried to quiet her.
“Don’t hush me Bridget” Abigail said back at her.“This is not the right place to talk about this” Bridget said.
“Then, where is it? After all, you ran away from me and now you are afraid of any confrontation” Abigail raged at her.
“I am not afraid of any confrontation, I have nothing to fear” Bridget shouted back.
“Oh yea, you have always been scared of what people would say when they find out about us, isn’t that why you ran away to your pretty unreal life you have here? A pastor’s wife, who are you kidding? Does Mark really know the woman he has by his side to run his ministry, does he?” She said mocking her. “All you have is a lie; this life you are living is a lie. I know you Bridget, I know every emotion you can ever have and I know you can never love a man as you loved me. I know the way you think, I know every part of your body, every scar, everything.”
“What happened to you Abigail? What do you think? She yelled at her. “That I would continue to live with you for the rest of my life?” Bridget scorned at her, getting angrier by the minute. “I lived a shameful life in the past and I am not about to go back there.”
“Really” Abigail jeered at her. “You liar! You enjoyed every moment you spent with me; you were happy, you had everything to live for, and you had me. You have me to laugh with and cry with, you always had a shoulder to cry on, I never cheated on you and make you feel bad about yourself, I gave you everything that a man can never give to you, I gave you freedom.”
“No, stop it Abigail, stop it! That wasn’t freedom, nothing of what we ever did was freedom; we were both in bondage of sin. I really don’t understand who you are, we are Christian Abigail, we should know life” Bridget said.
Just then, she saw Abigail busted into an uncontrollable laughter.
“Is that what you sold to Mark?” She said laughing. “I guess he believed you enough to have put a ring on your fingers” She continued to laugh at her.
Bridget was upset at her; she realized that no matter what she says to her, it wouldn’t make any differences, so she took her bag and walked out of the room. She was grateful the dressing room was empty so no one was likely to hear all of their conversation.
“Don’t you dare walk away from me” Abigail shouted after her. “I deserve more than this, you owe me everything”
Fear of their conversation been heard, Bridget went back to her.
“I don’t owe you anything Abigail, nothing” She shouted at her. “I am tired of you thinking you did something for me and I am expected to pay you somehow. No, I do not. Everything that ever happened between us, I totally regret, I wished that I never did those things; I wished I never defied myself the way I did. Don’t you see that? Can you understand all these Abigail?” She said soberly t her. “That was not a life to live and I am not proud of what I did”
Bridget saw she was lost. Underneath all the pretty face and wealth she had, she was lost. There is nothing difficult like trying to preach the gospel to someone who knows the bible from the beginning to the end, someone who grew up in church. She wanted to make her realise the truth she saw years ago that delivered her from the hands of the enemy.
Bridget went closer to her, held her hands, looking straight into her eyes.
“Listen to me Abigail, remember the word of God in Romans 1 from 26 to 28: ‘For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error. And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper.’
“Homosexuality is clearly condemned by the Bible. It goes against the created order of God who created Adam, a man, and then made Eve, a woman. This is what God has ordained as the normal means by which we carry out his command to fill the earth; not the other way around. Homosexuality has a severe judgment administered by God Himself. This judgment is simple: they are given over to their passions. That means that their hearts are allowed to be hardened by their sins. As a result, they can no longer see the error of what they are doing, and then they go and promote it and condemn others who don't participate in their sin. Can you see what I mean?” She asked, still looking at her. “I need you to understand these things, I did you to come out of it, it is wrong, it is against the will of God for our lives.”
At this, Abigail lowered her eyes from her.
“Alright” She said. “I am sorry Bridget. I take back everything I said today, I am very sorry” She spoke with caution. “I didn’t mean to upset you, it’s just that, all these years without you has been so miserable for me. The other time when I told you about my job and everything I have achieved, I did lied to you. Yes I have a good job but I have been miserable all these years. After you left things were not the same again, I searched everywhere I could think of but nothing.
Years after, I thought maybe you were right after all, that we were not meant to be together so I tried other relationships with guys but still, no one could be compared to the feelings I had with you. You are the best that ever happened to me Bridget, you were everything I ever had” By this time, Abigail was in tears. This situation was very familiar, each time, Bridget has one of her regrets in their relationships and wants to leave, then, Abigail would start to cry and tell her how her life would be hell without her.
“We have to move on Abigail” Bridget started to say. “What we were then, what we did was wrong, it was a sin” She gently said to her. “I did love you like a sister to sister, like a normal friend but not the way you think. The things we did were abominable to God, they were sins”
“I know” Abigail said in tears. “You know very well how I struggled with that, I know Bridget but this is who I am, I love you and there’s nothing wrong in that. I love you with all that I am, is it a crime to love, is it?” She continued to cry.
“But God can deliver you from this; God is able to set you free if you are willing to let him”
“Please Bridget, don’t send me away. I can’t afford to lose you again. I can’t.” She said in tears. “We can be together again, I know we can”
Immediately, Bridget withdrew her hands from her.
“No, we can’t” She said. “I’m not going over there again, I won’t. I am married to the most amazing man and would never sin against him, I will not sin against God” She said.
“What is sin? How can you call the love we shared a sin?” Abigail asked angrily, wiping the tears from her eyes.
“It is a sin Abigail” Bridget said back. “You are about to be married, doesn’t that bother you?”
“You of all people should know me. The only reason I am marrying Peter is because my parents are pestering me to get married.” She said.
“But Peter loves you, I know he does. He has been a changed man since he met you; he loves you so much, why can’t you give his love a chance in your life” Bridget said.
“I am not capable of loving any man” Abigail said.
“Anyone is capable of love if you give the chance” Bridget said.
“Well, I am not anyone”
“So what do you want from me?” Bridget asked.
“I want you and you alone” She said.
“What!” Bridget said in utter confusion.
“I know you are married and I am going to marry Peter but we can still be together, we can still share our love without people raising an eyebrow, isn’t that what you were always afraid of. You can now have the two Bridget, you can have me” She said going to hold her.
Bridget looked at her with so much contempt. She wouldn’t understand why Abigail would still insist on this way.
“No one would know Bridget and we can enjoy the rest of our lives together”
“God would know.” Bridget said, took her bag and walked out of the store. This time, there was no looking back. There was no use trying to argue her case with her since she was adamant on her decision. She had wanted to tell Mark immediately on Sunday when she saw her but she didn’t want to judge her before knowing are true intent but since everything is now clear, she has no choice than to let Mark know.
As she drove home, fear gripped her, she did always have a weak point for Abigail, which was one of the reasons she stayed on despite all indication to leave years ago. She remembered six years ago when she walked out, her life had been full of total darkness and regrets; despite moving far away from Abigail, no day passes without thinking about her, all her effort to move on and live a good life was to no avail. Then, she realized there was no point running especially when the one you are running away from is the only person that can save you. You had to go back to God, she has to crawl back into his presence and ask for mercy. At first, the shame tried to drive her away but she remembered that God is merciful and his mercy is what she needed now, his forgiveness was paramount to her survival. For days, she stayed in her house crying to God for mercy, she wept and groaned in pain before him.
As each day passes, she saw more of herself in darkness, the saw the way she did lived herself in the most despicable way. She cried to God not to receive her prayers as abomination to Him. She needed him to set her free and receive her back into his mercy. She wept and cried at His feet for mercy. For seven days, she continued in this prayer for mercy, there was no turning back. The more she read the bible, she felt more conviction of His words, she continued to pray until she received his peace and knew without doubt that God had forgiven her but that wasn’t enough, she had to get delivered from every spirit working against her life. So, she searched for a bible believing church, confessed her sins to the pastors and asked if they can conduct a deliverance section for her. With the grace and mercy of God, she was finally delivered and free at last.
Her joy was unending, she had peace beyond every other but this didn’t last long when she realised something was wrong with her. She visited the hospital and after several test and examinations, she discovered she had cervical cancer. That tore her heart into pieces, she lost heart of everything. She felt that was God’s punishment to her for all she did in her past. She started off her chemotherapy treatment which was much difficult especially when you have no one by your side. Her mother had relocated to another country and she didn’t want to scare her and the only friend she did ever have, she had walked away from her. But in all these, she held on to her new faith; what shall separate her from the love of Christ, no sickness, nothing would again take her away from God.
During her treatment, she would take a cab down to the hospital but on a particular day, a day that changed the rest of her life. She was in the cab when the driver started to make conversation.
“Ma’am” the driver called again.
But Bridget was far off in her thought.
“Ma’am” he called again.
“Oh sorry…” She said.
“I’m sorry to bother you but is anything the matter?” He asked.
“Oh, nothing, thanks for asking” She said.
“You took my cab two days ago and this was the exact face I saw, are you ok ma’am?” He asked.
“What!” She said, unsure of what he meant.
“I’m sorry if I’m intruding but I would like you to know God is able” He said, smiling.
“God is able!” Bridget repeated, unsure of what to make of it
“Yes, He is able to help us through every challenges we have in life, he can see us through” the driver said.
Bridget was quiet looking straight at the stranger. The driver looked through his interior mirror and saw the he got her attention.
“Are you a Christian ma’am?” He asked.
“Yes” She answered.
“Then, I’m sure you know God is all powerful and he loves you. He loves you so much ma’am and He would never leave you.” He said.
At that word, Bridget burst into tears, that was the word; she had felt for days now if indeed God loves her enough to let all these into her life but for a total stranger to tell her God loves her pierced into her heart.
“I’m sorry ma’am, I didn’t mean to upset you” He apologised.
“No, you didn’t upset me” She said, embarrassed, trying to wipe the tears away from her eyes. “You said, God loves me”
“Yes ma’am, he does” the driver said.
“You know, I am going through some tough times now and I needed to be reminded that God loves me and you just said the right word” she said.
“Hmm, God always speak the right words to us” he said.
“Are you an angel?” She asked. “I have heard stories of people’s encounters with angels, maybe you are one” She said staring at him.
“Oh no” he laughed. “I am no angel, I am just a humble driver” He said, amused.
“Hmm, ok” She smiled. “And you made me smile; I haven’t done that in a while”
The driver smiled back. Then, he drove into parking lot of the hospital.
“Here we are” he said
Bridget sat down looking through the window, as sadness filled her.
“Is everything ok?” the driver asked again.
“I wish I didn’t have to go in” She said.
“Do you want me to go in with you?” he asked.
“Oh no!” She smiled again. “You are such a nice man, thank you” She said and opened the door.
Bridget walked a few steps and turned back to the cab which was still waiting.
“I’m sorry to ask this but I need a cab tomorrow at 8:45 am at the same place where you picked me up, would that be okay?” She asked.
“Yes, no problem ma’am, 8:45 is it” He said smiling.
“Thank you” She smiled and moved away from the window, just then she came forward again.
“Sorry to bother you again” She said and found the driver smiling, all he did was smile.
“You must think I’m weird” She said.
“Oh no ma’am, do you need anything?” he asked.
“I was wondering if you could come pick me after my treatment today, around 5:00 in the evening if it’s no trouble, I will pay you for all the services” She said.
“That’s ok ma, I will be here by 5:00” he said.
“Thank you” She smiled and started to walk away.
“By the way” the driver said which brought her back.
“My name is Mark” He said smiling.
“Bridget” She said back.
“See you at 5:00” He said and drove away.
Bridget stood there, there was something about the driver, something she couldn’t get her fingers on but she was happy to have met him, a cab driver but the most pleasant one she did met.
As he promised, Mark was there to pick her up in the evening and the next day and every other appointment she had at the hospital. He became a friend to her, in fact, he called himself her personal limo driver and she in return called him, his angel. Their friendship went beyond being her cab driver, times when she was so weak from the treatment; days when all she does was lay in bed with pain all over her, Days when she was weak and throw up due to the effect of the treatment, he was there with her, he helped her through all her struggles. Bridget was grateful for a friend in him, when she needed someone to talk to, someone to help, he was there. There were times when she was admitted in the hospital, he was there by her side, he read the bible to her, prayed with her, in fact, sometimes, during the night, he would stay overnight and times when Bridget found him praying endlessly for her recovery.
Finally, months after that, she was cleared of all cancer, everything was clear. Mark had been great, and during that time, he fell in love with the totally stranger he had picked one day in his cab. After her recovery, he later told her who he was. He wasn’t just a cab driver, he was a son of one of the richest men in the country, he had businesses that he did run and head; but that was not enough for him, he felt he was running his father’s business but his heavenly father’s business was left unattended to. He knew he didn’t need to work, he could employ people who could do the job for him and still, he couldn’t stay at home and do nothing.
He felt the call of God upon his life, so he devise a plan; he registered at a cab company and started to freelance, he would driver all sort of people and use that opportunity to preach the gospel to them. He did drove rich people, the poor, people who had everything but had no God in their lives, people who were depress and needed God in their lives, sick people who were already given days to live, he was there to share the word of God with them, those who had God but were confused about life, he even had to drive a teenager who was pregnant and had to deliver in his cab. But in all this, he was fulfilling the purpose of God in his life. His parents however were so angry at his decision; it took them a while to accept his faith and decision to drive a cab. They tried to convince him, even to build a church for him to be able to preach his faith better rather than driving a taxi but Mark wouldn’t have any of it, he wanted to have a solid foundation in his ministry, he didn’t just want to build a big massive church to preach the gospel, yes, he had the money to do it but that wasn’t God’s plan for him yet.
In all these, he found the love of her life, the one person he was ready to spend the rest of his life with and who would support and help him in the ministry. At first, when he told Bridget about his love for her, she had immediately withdrawn herself; she wasn’t ready to be in a relationship especially if that someone was Mark. He was prefect, he had everything in his life, he wasn’t a sinner like she was, and he was holy and acceptable before God. Yes, she knew God had forgiven her but that was not an excuse to desire something great like him from God, she felt she didn’t deserve that kind of man in her life. It took months for Mark to convince her about his love, their relationship wasn’t about who was perfect, who wasn’t a sinner but a love that overrides every sin and their past. He told her, we were all sinners when God died for us and only God can make us perfect and holy in his sight. Bridget wasn’t sure what he would do when he hears about her past homosexual life but her fear didn’t last as Mark was ready to move on with her irrespective of her past life, he told her God forgives every sin and gives us a new life, he cleans the slate and renew us in him, he remembers our sins no more.
After the meeting with Bridget, Abigail had been so angry, she felt every emotion in her, she loved her with all her life but she couldn’t understand why Bridget would give up on her love. She was angry at all the holiness she was preaching at her. Who was she to tell her all those? But in all these, she saw a peace in Bridget; a kind of feeling she had been longing for but never had. In all these, she had tried to always block God from her life, her passion overrides every thought that the way she lived her life was wrong. All she wanted was to love and couldn’t understand why that was a sin and why she couldn’t just be acceptable in this world.
She got into her car and decided to go over to Peter’s. Even though she does not have any love for him, she still like him; she was grateful that in all her life, since Bridget, he was the only one who took time to care for her, she had tried to love him but nothing worked.
She got to his house and was grateful he was in since she saw his car outside, she had never for once had any intention of telling Peter anything about her life, she needed him to complete her life, and she thought that sooner or later, Bridget might come back to her now that she was within distance from her. Soon, they would be in-laws and thought what better way to live their lives than to be close to each other. Peter was a great man to her, he loves her and would do anything for her and for now, that was enough for her until she eventually get the one she truly loves back into her life, she was ready to accept Peter’s love and live a day at a time.
She opened the door to his living room but was taken back to see a female jacket and a hand bag on the table. She couldn’t find Peter anywhere and no sign of any guest so she walked upstairs to check him in his room. Towards getting to his room, she heard giggling and laughter, her heart sunk. She opened the door and found Peter with another woman, naked in bed, clinging into each other. She was dazed, so was Peter. He wasn’t expecting her; he immediately pulled away from the woman. Abigail couldn’t believe her eyes, she stood there for several minutes staring at the way Peter was fidgeting around to get into his clothes, she heard him talking to her but she couldn’t make out the words, her ears seems blocked from reality.
Then, she turned back and ran back down stair, got out of the house, into her car. Her heart was racing; she couldn’t understand why a man would say he loves you and yet, sleep with another woman. All she wanted was to be loved and not cheated upon, she needed someone to take her as she is and not deceive her. Every emotion was driving through her head, she kept driving and racing; she wanted to run away from all this and before she knew it, she lost control. She left the car somersaulting over and over again, she closed her eyes and felt nothing, no pain, no joy, nothing, she was blank, and then, she blacked out.
In the evening, when Mark got home, Bridget told him everything that happened, about Abigail and who she really was to her. She apologised she had not told him sooner as she was scared of destroying the relationship he had with his twin brother but now, since she was certain of her intention, she wanted him to know, even without that, she still wanted him to know about her.
Mark at first was angry she had not told him sooner but to be honest, since Sunday, he’s been in and out of the house quickly due to some business and things he had to attend to and really had not got the chance to properly time spend with his wife. He accepted her apology but now, both were not sure of how to deal with the matter, they thought if they should tell Peter or not but decided to go to God in prayer to show light into the situation. Just then, his phone rang. It was his Peter crying on the phone, telling him to come down to the hospital, Immediately, Mark and Bridget rushed down there, there weren’t sure what the problem was but from his tone, they knew it wasn’t good.
Peter seeing his brother on the hallway ran to him.
“I messed up, I messed up” He cried, controllable.
“What happened?” Mark asked, seeing how distressed he was.
“I need something terrible, I was only fooling around” He said in tears.
“What happened Peter?” Mark asked again.
“It’s Abigail, She had an accident, I caused all this; my foolishness caused all these” He cried out.
“My God! How?” Bridget asked.
“Oh God, I really should have stopped her from leaving, I should, nothing of this would have happened” he said.
“Where is she now?” Mark asked.
“She’s still in surgery, the Doctors came in an hour again to tell me she’s got some very fatal internal bleedings and are not sure of her survival, they are still trying to save her life” He said, feeling so dejected.
“How did it happen?” Bridget said in tears. “I saw her this afternoon, she was fine” She cried.
“She came over to my place and found me with another woman, she was so angry that she ran out, I tried calling her back but she wouldn’t listen. I messed up” He said hysterically. “My foolishness caused all these” He said in tears.
Bridget was confused, her heart sunk in fear, she wasn’t sure of what to think, of course she loves her friend irrespective of their past life, she still cared for her, she was a like a sister to her growing up.
“Please Mark, you need to pray for her, you need to tell God to spare her life, please” He said holding his brother’s hands with his own trembling hands. “You have been faithful to God, he would hear your prayers, please tell him to help her, tell him to please save her, I will do anything, I will turn from my evil ways, I will serve him, please brother, please…”He said shaking all over, in tears.
The three began to pray for her, Peter was in tears saying amen to all their prayers, Bridget begged and ask God to spare her life, she begged God for forgiveness on her behalf and asked God to make an exemption for her, she asked if she could take all her sins away from her and put it on herself and then, if God would forgive her sins and give Abigail a new life. She knew the prayer was ridiculous but she needed all prayers now, even if they made sense or not.
After about an hour, Abigail was out of surgery, she was wheeled back to the ward. The doctors were not sure she may survive as it was difficult to stop the internal bleeding. Peter was so devastated at this news, he blamed himself. He became hysterical and began to cry the more. Mark had to take him outside to calm him down. Bridget stayed with her friend, she held her hands and wished she would open her eyes and come back to her. Tears flowed from her eyes seeing her lying there helplessly. This life scared her; one minute, they were arguing and shouting at each other, the next the other is fighting for their life. She prayed there and asked God to please bring her friend back to life, she cried for his mercy to see her through. She prayed so hard.
Minutes later, Abigail weakly opened her eyes; everything was blurred; she was in pain and couldn’t feel any part of her body. She remembered glimpse of what happened. She wanted to scream out but the words wouldn’t come. She saw Bridget standing there and that gave her hope, she wanted to call her but saw that her eyes were closed. Bridget heard groaning and opened her eyes, there, she saw Abigail staring at her, she moved immediately to her.
“Oh Abigail…” She said in tears.
“Don’t…..” Abigail wanted to tell her not to cry but she was so weak to speak, she tried lifting up her hands towards Bridget face but it dropped back on the bed. Bridget took hold of her hands and held it tightly.
“This is never what I wanted Abigail” Bridget said in tears. “But….” She burst into more tears.
“I don’t know what to do if anything…..” She said in tears
Abigail knew what she was going to say, she wasn’t going to make it.
Bridget cried more, she couldn’t tell her friend she was dying, and she couldn’t.
“I have so many things to share with you, so many things but I am afraid I never got the chance to” She said sobbing. “If only I had come back to you, if only I had come back to share the good news with you, to help you back to God….., I should have been back, I failed you Abigail, I knew the way, I found it and didn’t share it sooner with you. I was selfish and cared only about myself….” She continued to cry. Her heart was heavy, her friend could die any moment from there and those few minutes were all she had.
“I wish I had more time with you Abigail. I don’t want you to die….” She cried out in pain. “I want you here with me, I want you to live a good life with a good man, have kids. I want you to see our kids growing up, have their families. I wanted us to have our grandchildren all around us; I want you so live…..
Abigail felt sad at her pain, only if she had her voice, she could tell her not to blame herself, it wasn’t her fault, she chose this life of hers, she forgot God and lived in sin, this was all on her but she wished she had a second chance to make things right, to start all over again, a clean slate but this, she could never have, she was dying and lost everything. She failed God and took his grace for granted.
“J…e…s…u…s” She whimpers.
Bridget heard her say, ‘Jesus’ and that scared her. What would happen to her friend if she died without accepting Jesus into her life, she would go into eternal condemnation and that, she couldn’t live with.
“Oh God, please…” Bridget cried out. “You have to forgive her Lord, please…..”
Then, she felt Abigail squeeze her hands.
“Oh Abigail, You have to accept Jesus into your life, you have to ask him to forgive you, please, tell him, he would hear you…., use every strength in you, you have got to talk to him now” Bridget said in tears.
“Say Lord Jesus…” Bridget said.
Abigail wanted to repeat those words after her but her voice was gone, the words wouldn’t come. Then, her eyes were filled with tears, she felt she definitely was on a path to hell, she was doomed for life.
“Oh God, you have to say it Abigail, you have to” Bridget said in tears.
But Abigail was just in tears, her voice was gone. She was trying to talk but nothing came out, she tried harder but nothing.
Bridget wasn’t sure of what to do in this situation, she had no idea how those that are dumb could accept Jesus into their lives, how they confess Him as their Lord and saviour. She had to help her friend, she had to do something.
“Okay Abigail, if you can’t speak, say it in your mind, okay, repeat after me…”
Abigail squeezed her hand.
“Lord Jesus, Please forgive me of all my sins” Bridget said and felt her squeezed her hands.
“I confess that I am a sinner and sinned against you”
Abigail squeezed again.
“Please forgive me and cleanse me of all my sins. I accept you Lord Jesus as my Lord and personal Saviour…”
Abigail felt the tears running down herself, she squeezed gently again.
“Thank you Jesus for forgiving me…” Bridget said but then, there was no squeezing. She opened her eyes and saw Abigail’s eyes were closed; the heart monitor was flat…
“Oh God, please…” She cried out. “Please Lord…, Abigail, can you hear me, Abigail…” She cried. “Squeeze once if you can hear me, just squeeze Abigail, please…..
Then, she noticed the nurses who rushed into the room, one of them pulled her away, she was distraught and in tears, in the hallway, she saw Mark and Peter coming, as they saw her, they both ran to her. Peter realising Abigail was gone leaned against the floor and began to cry. Mark held Bridget into her embrace.
It’s been two weeks since my friend Abigail died. I still can’t make sense of all this, I don’t understand why God would bring her back into my life only for him to take her away so soon, maybe God wanted me to bring her to Him but that was so soon, I felt he should have given me more time to preach the gospel to her until she yielded to it not on her death bed. Abigail was a dear and loved one, I still mourn her death. My husband said ‘God loves her’. Of course, God does, he gave her another chance to come to him, he restored her life back to him even though it was only some few seconds, he did gave her a new life, a life to spend with Him in heaven. I want to believe she is with our Lord Jesus Christ, I am convince of that now but I missed her terribly. Just that one day we got to spend together, I still missed her and I am grateful that God saved her.
Please my friends, whatever sin you are struggling with, the addiction that no one knows about, the ones you hide in the corner of your room or you practice away from people, God sees all things, he knows the hidden thought and act of men. Please, surrender to God now so he can help you before it’s too late. I beg you in the love of God, I beg you to please, give your life back to him, dedicate your life to him before it’s too late. He loves you irrespective of your past and sins, he will give you a new life, a clean slate to start all over again, you can still make it you are reading this; God bless you all.
Yours truly,
Bridget.
The End…….
